Handmade Artist’s Book Workshop

Join us for one of our Craft and Craft Events on Tuesday 26th November from 7pm in West Norwood to create your own books with writer and artist, Demi Anter.

Attendees will be guided through every step of creating two to three of their own handmade artist’s books, including sewn binding styles and matchbox books. The first half of the workshop will focus on the book structure, with the second half dedicated to creating content for the books via writing, drawing and collage.

Supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any additional creative materials they might like to incorporate, from photographs to ticket stubs to postcards and more, to further personalise their books. Prior experience in bookmaking is not necessary. The workshop is open to all skill sets and experience levels! Each participant will leave with at least one handmade book, perfect as a gift or a personal keepsake.

Tickets include tutorial, materials  & three halves of local craft beer!

Demi Anter is an award-winning artist and facilitator. She regularly conducts workshops at institutions in the US, Europe and UK, including the Irish Cultural Centre, Women Writing Berlin Lab, WORD! Leicester, UC Santa Barbara and more. Her books are in the collections of UCSB’s Special Collections and the National Poetry Library (UK).
